Steering Committee Chair Joachim Ritter, Editor-in-Chief of the PLD magazine

"PLDC – it is amazing what four letters are capable of expressing. PLDC stands for the latest know-how and findings in the field of Lighting Design, for political discussions on and around the process to establish the profession, and the developments along the way. It also stands for the exchange of news and views among colleagues and friends from the global network that makes up the lighting design community worldwide. The special quality of PLDC is that it has become an acknowledged platform for communication between lighting designers, manufacturers, clients and architects that really works. PLDC 2013 in Copenhagen will follow this tradition and make a further step towards our acclaimed goals."

Dr. Merete Madsen, Architect MAA, P.hd.

"PLDC 2013 in Copenhagen is destined to follow London, Berlin and Madrid as a significant convention – a meeting place where professional lighting designers from all over the world will gather, share knowledge, exchange views and inspire each other. The event will make for a further step in the process to illustrate the qualities architectural lighting design can add to our living and working spaces, informing and encouraging decision-makers within the built environment how to benefit more from the competence of qualified lighting designers."

Alison Ritter

"As a member of the PLDC Steering Committee from the start, I am honoured and thrilled to see that PLDC has become a fixed date in the lighting community’s diary. The lighting industry and lighting designers from around the world acknowledge the PLDC event as a crucial platform for learning and exchanging views. The realisation of the need for dedicated education programmes, continuing professional development, and enhanced and more opportunities to learn will add a layer of open and creative minds from the world of academic education and research. A further Educators’ Knowledge Transfer Session is planned plus other pre-convention meetings for educators, trainers and researchers. "
