Programme

Since the first PLDC in 2007, the globally recognised event has grown and developed with regard to the content and activities offered.

PLDC 2017 traditionally offers three defined conference tracks plus one variable track – the latter depending on the current market situation and interest trends, the location of the convention, and recent technological developments. The conference will again be accompanied by a high-grade manufacturers’ exhibition, a space for partners from the industry to present their companies and services and to enter into discussions with lighting designers, specifiers, architects and professionals from light-related desciplines.

In addition, the team of organisers will offer a number of accompanying elements to the conference programme for the 2017 event:
Experience rooms will invite and encourage attendees to experience different aspects of light and lighting in a new format.

The Challenge – a young speakers‘ competition has the aim of activating more students to learn from each other and from experienced professionals and, together with their schools, become a more accepted part of the lighting design community. The competition comprises four rounds, Round IV taking place at PLDC 2017, when the final best six will present papers. The overall winner will be announced at PLDC 2017 at the Gala Dinner and receive a money prize.

Excursions to buildings and projects in and around Rome will offer attendees the opportunity to visit the spaces and experience the lighting conditions first-hand.

The PLD community lounge once again invites lighting designers, architects, city planners, manufacturers and other professionals from related disciplines to exchange ideas and follow up with business contacts and friends. Moderated discussions in the lounge during the lunch breaks on some of the main topics of the conference will put further emphasis on current developments in the lighting market.

The traditional evening events for PLDC 2017 will offer attendees a further opportunity to socialize and maintain contact with business colleagues or meet friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

See you in Paris!
