The Professional Lighting Design Convention is organised by
VIA Educational Events Divisionwas created in 2007. The events team organizes different educational events including seminars, master classes, conferences, evening get-togethers for professionals, PLDA workshops, and the Professional Lighting Design Convention, PLDC.
VIA provides a platform for high-quality information, education and debate on all aspects of light, lighting technology and lighting design in architecture.
PLDC is co-organised by PLDA
The Professional Lighting Designers' Association PLDA was originally founded as the European Lighting Designers' Association ELDA+, and is a voluntary federation of lighting designers and lighting consultants who are active on an international scale, their purpose being to increase the reputation of the profession and to establish the profession as such in its own right. To achieve this aim PLDA supports, develops and organizes effective training programmes and promotes an awareness of good lighting and the necessity for the purposeful application of light in our living and working spaces.
VIA is supported by the local coordinator APDI
The Asociación Profesional de Diseñadores de Iluminación, APDI was established on 18. September, 2008 in Spain with the intention of responding to the changes taking place on the Spanish lighting market. APDI is a pro-active group of lighting designers dedicated to developing the culture of light, establishing the criteria and responsibilities required of the lighting professional, and promoting the Lighting Design profession in general. Since these objectives are ones shared with PLDA, we have teamed up with them and are supporting PLDC in Madrid 2011 as the local partner.
