Who organises PLDC?
PLDC is organized by VIA-Verlag, the publishing house of the Professional Lighting Design magazine, PLD. The VIA Educational Events Division was created in 2007. The events team organizes different educational events including seminars, master classes, conferences, evening get-togethers for professionals, workshops, and the Professional Lighting Design Convention, PLDC. VIA provides a series of platforms for high-quality information, education and debate and exchange on all aspects of light, lighting technology and lighting design in architecture.
Who can attend?
PLDC is targeted at lighting designers, architects, interior designers, students, researchers (including the medical community), manufacturers, city planners, and private and public clients. Generally, the event invites all lighting design enthusiasts, supporters and specialists to attend and be part of the development of the lighting design market – through the exchange of knowledge and networking.
How and when can I register for PLDC 2013?
Registration is now open. Registrations will only be accepted through the registration form on the official website.
Your registration is binding. Cancellation is possible in the case of illness or due to circumstances beyond the registree's control. In the latter case 75% of the registration fee can be refunded up to one month before the conference. After the cancellation period no refund can be granted. Cancellations must be made in writing and accompanied by a doctor's certificate, if applicable.
How do I select accommodation and travel?
Copenhagen Airport and trains station are international renowned and provide excellent connections. The Bella Center has its own underground station which runs 24 / 7. VIA will agree on special partner rates in hotels and youth hotels/hostels nearby. Using the special PLDC code, you will be granted a reduced hotel room price. Partner hotels can be found here.
How were the papers selected?
Each paper submission is read and evaluated anonymously by three members of the Paper Reviewing Committee. The submissions are evaluated on the general quality and professionalism of the proposed paper, the suitability of the proposed paper to its declared track, the innovative character of the proposed paper’s contents and the absolute importance the jury ascribes to the topic of the proposed paper. Based on the evaluation points awarded by the Paper Reviewing Committee, the Steering Committee of PLDC selects the final (approximately) 70 papers for presentation.
When will the conference programme be published?
The conference programme is now online. Details can be viewed here.
Does VIA award certificates of attendance?
