Creating one emotion
This presentation is a journey through the lighting design process and highlights the importance of effectively creating an emotion. It will explore how lighting supports a project’s success by leaving a lasting impression with the viewer. Participants will learn a method of lighting design that has proven rewarding in projects such as Science Storms at Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, Crystals at CityCenter in Las Vegas, and the Aureole restaurant in New York City.
Paul Gregory is the founder and president of Focus Lighting, Inc. of New York City. Paul was trained in theatrical lighting at the Goodman Theatre School of the Art Institute of Chicago and in Architectural Lighting Design at the Parsons School of Design in New York City He has spent the 25 years revealing and highlighting architecture by “painting pictures with light”. Paul’s designs reflect the belief that a sense of drama is inherent in successful architectural projects.
