Ecological age lighting design

Florence Lam will share a range of bespoke design tools that she and her team have developed in the past to make light not only understandable but also tangible. Models, mock ups and sophisticated computer-modelling software are all part of their design process. The design results are not just innovative but dedicated to the project. The presentation will explore challenges for lighting designers/ engineers and how their priorities may change in an ecological age.

After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Florence studied lighting at the Bartlett School of Architecture and has been working for Arup, an international design and business consulting firm, since graduating. Florence is now a Director with Arup. She is the leader of Arup’s global lighting practice, and has been responsible for a wide range of creative and well-executed projects all over the world.
