A practical method for commissioning lighting using high dynamic range photography

This presentation involves the use of High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography as a practical means for assessing lighting system performance. It will present a practical technique for capturing and assessing the performance of lighting systems that designers can use in everyday practice. It will also illustrate how considerations other than illuminance can be assessed as a means to evaluate lighting quality.

Dr. Craig A. Bernecker, FIESNA, LC is founder of The Lighting Education Institute. Dr. Bernecker also currently teaches in the Masters of Fine Arts in Lighting program at Parsons The New School for Design, and in the Graduate Architecture program at the University of Pennsylvania, and played a major role in the creation of a “Lighting Diploma” at IberoAmericana University in Mexico City
