Health effects of blue light sources

Discussions in lighting conferences are showing that there is a keen interest in understanding and quantitatively estimating potential risks from using light sources with blue spectral components for lighting applications. This presentation will address this topic and give answers with respect to potential health risks in applying the most commonly used light sources.

Dieter Lang, LiTG studied Physics and Computer Science before embarking on his professional career at Osram in Munich, where he still is today. In 2004 he became responsible for European projects in the department for Strategic Innovation Management, which includes the “Light and Quality of Life” programme.
