The Point at Lancashire County Cricket Club

The Point is the first phase of the world-class renaissance of Lancashire County Cricket Club providing the best 1,000 seat events venue in the north-west of England. BDP provided lighting design to the external façade, concourse area and stand as well as internal lighting to the front of house areas. State-of-the-art low energy LED lighting and controls helps the design intelligently integrate both passive and active environmental thinking to provide highly energy-efficient and sustainable operation. The speaker will present a full case study of this award-winning project.

In 1998 Brendan Keely, PLDA gained his MSc in Light and Lighting at the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College of London. Brendan is a professional lighting designer and Design Studio Manager of the lighting team at BDP (North) and aims at integrating the art and science of natural and artificial lighting into architecture through sustainable design. Brendan is an active member of the UK lighting design community.
